Writing
Jessica began her writing career as a journalist. This gave her invaluable training in working efficiently, asking great questions, always meeting deadlines, and writing for many different audiences. Working with clients’ source materials or conducting her own research, she delivers clear and professional content.
Editing
Jessica improves technical, scientific, and policy documents from early in the planning process to final copyediting. She analyzes her clients’ goals and solves “big picture” challenges in structure, style, and the writing process. She reviews documents line by line for clarity, accuracy, and correct use of grammar.
Writing coaching and training
Many people think the ability to write clearly is innate—you either have it or you don’t. But writing is a skill and, like any skill, can be learned. Jessica has helped hundreds of individuals become effective writers. She pinpoints obstacles to clear communication and delivers tailored solutions.
Jessica has held academic appointments at Stanford University, the University of California, Irvine, Chatham University, and San Francisco State University. Jessica regularly earns outstanding evaluations.
